Packaging materials for sending memorial keepsakes to MOMENTS

Hair Jewellery: Tips for Preparing Your Lock

  • Length: A lock of hair at least 2 cm long allows us to create beautiful forms. For palm stones, 3 cm is ideal.
  • Multiple people: Locks from more than one person can be worked into a single piece together.
  • Dark hair: Dark hair shows particularly well. Please let us know your preferred background colour, or ask us which colours harmonise best.
  • Light hair: Light grey and white hair present a challenge, as they are difficult to see on most backgrounds. A black background works best, though visibility remains limited.

Textiles

  • Quantity: A small piece of fabric is all that is needed. Please let us know whether you would like it cut into a specific shape or incorporated throughout the piece.

Ash Jewellery

  • Quantity: For a jewellery piece we need one tablespoon of ashes (approximately 20 grams); for a palm stone, slightly more than one tablespoon.
  • Background: Please let us know whether you would like the ashes set against a dark, light or natural background.
  • Additions: Silver leaf, rose gold leaf or gold leaf can lend a finer feel to the finished piece. The ashes of two people can also be combined in one keepsake.
  • Packaging: Please use small ash capsules or ziplock bags and label them carefully.

Shipping Other Materials

  • Possible materials: Flowers, shells, sand, earth, leaves, bark and more.
  • Packaging: Please use ziplock bags and label them carefully. Pack all materials in a padded envelope, sent by tracked post or as a small parcel, and address them to:
