Our Founding Story
Our company exists in its present form for one reason: angel babies. We began with breast milk jewellery. Kasia, our founder, was a passionate nursing mother who was advised by her doctor to stop breastfeeding. That loss prompted her to look for a way to preserve that tender time. From early experiments at home to a registered patent, several years passed. During the many breast milk pieces we lovingly made, requests for memorial jewellery for angel babies grew, and we found ourselves asking: how could we honour that alongside the warmth of early motherhood? How could we serve bereaved parents with the care they deserve? We chose to separate the two paths, and that decision became the foundation of Moments memorial jewellery.
Because angel babies, sometimes called butterfly children, are truly a cause close to our hearts, we sat down together and thought carefully about how we could create individual, deeply personal pieces with a connection to each child. We worked with the materials we know best, shaping strands of hair into stars and butterflies. When a baby has not yet grown hair, the hair can be yours. The background of a piece can incorporate fabric from the child's clothing, a thread from a baby blanket, or another meaningful material. It is also possible to place the child's ashes within the wings of a butterfly or at the centre of a star. We can arrange the hair into the first initial of the child's name, and add a birthstone to mark the month of the silent birth. Our angel baby collection is still in its early days, but it is our heartfelt wish to give you a way to hold these memories.
Breast Milk and Umbilical Cord Jewellery in Memory of an Angel Baby
Here too we can draw on our origins and many years of experience, offering parents jewellery made from breast milk, or the option to preserve a piece of umbilical cord in a handcrafted piece. The images below show how singular these pieces are.
A Palm Stone in Memory of an Angel Baby
In this palm stone we placed a strand of the mother's hair and a strand of the father's hair, shaped together into a heart, with the ashes of their angel baby set into the centre. The flowers in the background are from the funeral flowers at the burial.
If you have ideas for this very special collection, we would be glad to hear from you.
