From Your Cherished Memories to Timeless Jewellery, Step by Step
When you entrust us with the ashes, hair, or fur of someone you have loved, you are placing something irreplaceable in our hands. We understand the weight of that trust. Every piece of Keep Moments jewellery passes through nine deliberate stages, each performed by the same small team of jewellers who have made this work their calling. What follows is our process, exactly as it happens.
Our Nine-Step Process
Step 1 : Receiving Your Materials
The moment your parcel arrives, it is received by our team and registered with a unique identification code. Your materials, whether ashes, hair, or fur, are logged and stored securely under that code from this point forward. Nothing is ever mixed, mislabelled, or left unaccounted for. Your keepsake is treated as the singular, precious thing it is.
Step 2 : Preservation
Before any crafting begins, your materials undergo our proprietary conservation process, developed in-house over years of research. This step protects the integrity of the inclusion so it remains stable and beautiful within the piece for a lifetime. The method is our own, and it is the foundation of everything we make.
Step 3 : Stone or Pearl Formation
Your preserved materials are carefully measured and placed into hand-selected moulds. Under controlled conditions, they are transformed into a memorial stone or pearl, shaped with precision to fit the mount you have chosen. Each formation is unique in its composition, just as each person and companion is unique.
Step 4 : First Quality Control
Before the stone or pearl moves to the next stage, every piece is examined individually by hand. Our jewellers check for structural integrity, surface consistency, and colour. Any piece that does not meet our standard is set aside and reworked. We make no compromises here. Your piece must be right before it goes further.
Step 5 : Polishing and Refining
Master craftspeople polish and refine each stone or pearl by hand until it reaches the level of beauty we require. This is slow, careful work, done under magnification, with tools chosen for each specific form. The result is a surface that catches the light and holds it, smooth and warm to the touch.
Step 6 : Setting and Engraving
Your memorial stone is set by hand into the mount you have chosen, whether in sterling silver, gold plating, or solid gold. If you have requested a personal engraving, a name, a date, or a few words, it is added at this stage by our engravers working directly on the metal. The piece begins to become entirely yours.
Step 7 : Assembly and Final Check
All components of your piece are brought together: chain, clasp, pendant, any additional elements. Chain lengths are measured and verified. The assembled piece then passes a final structural and aesthetic quality check, ensuring every element is secure and everything works and looks as it should before moving to the final stages.
Step 8 : Kasia's Personal Inspection
Before any piece leaves our atelier, it passes through Kasia's hands. She inspects every order personally, checking not just technical quality but the feeling the piece carries, whether it is something she would be proud to give to a person carrying a real loss. If it passes, she places her signature on the box. If it does not, it goes back. This step is not optional.
Step 9 : Packing and Sending
Your finished piece is wrapped and placed in a gift box, together with a care card and any remaining materials, which are always returned to you. The box is sealed, addressed by hand, and dispatched by DHL Express. As soon as it leaves us, you receive an email with your tracking link. What you are waiting for is on its way.
Every Piece Is Made for One Person
We are a small atelier. We do not scale by cutting corners. Each of the nine steps described above is performed by a person, not a machine, and each order is tracked by name from arrival to dispatch. If you have questions about the process, or about what sending your materials involves, we are here to answer them. Reach out to us at any point.
