A keepsake of a very special kind
On a beautiful summer's day, she married the man she loves. Everything was exactly right. The weather was perfect, family and friends gathered around them, and the celebration unfolded with wonderful food and live music. The ceremony itself was deeply personal, and tears of joy fell freely. They savoured every moment of that day, and set off on their honeymoon shortly after.
Their honeymoon in Scotland
Their honeymoon did not take them to the Maldives or Bali. They went to Scotland, their shared place of the heart, and the journey made it all the more precious. Two wonderful weeks in a small cottage in the middle of a forest. More romance than that is hard to imagine. The cottage was simply enchanting, so warm and welcoming that they savoured every single moment. They walked for miles, drinking in the extraordinary landscape, and came home each evening restored.
The blue door
That enchanting cottage had a blue front door, its paint already beginning to flake and peel. After every walk it welcomed them back, day after day, into their cosy retreat. The place felt so perfectly theirs that she quietly collected a few fragments of the peeling paint, hoping one day she would find a way to keep them.
From paint to pearl
She was overjoyed, truly, when she came across Moments and the possibility of creating something so personal. She chose a bead. Into the bead she had petals from her bridal bouquet set alongside the blue paint from that Scottish door. Around the outer ring she had "Scotland" engraved, so that everything, every thread of the memory, is held together in that one small piece.
"I am so delighted with this personal piece of jewellery."
Next year
Next year they will return to Scotland, to that same wonderful cottage, but this time with their first child. She hopes to find something there again, something worth keeping.
Warm wishes, C from Regensburg.
